Harmony Ballet Policy & Code of Conduct

General Information & Policies

Harmony Ballet is a creative arts ministry for girls to express their love for Jesus though dance. Our pursuit and focus as a dance ministry is to raise up a generation of girls and young women who possess a deep love for the Lord, a solid identity in Christ and a passion for worship! Each class will center on the concept of using our ability to dance to magnify the Lord and show others the love of Christ.

No previous dance experience is necessary for any entry level age groups and levels. Final class placement is subject to change based on Harmony Ballet director’s class placement.  Quality ballet curriculum will be used as the foundation of our dance program. Our classes and curriculum are designed with a Beginner/Intermediate level student in mind.

We offer Pre-Ballet classes starting at age 3 where younger students will receive age appropriate, stretching, strengthening and creative movement.

All classes and recitals are held at:

Heritage Church
4848 E Cactus Rd #700
Scottsdale, AZ 85254

As a guest of Heritage church, we ask that no parents or children use any classrooms, spaces, or resources other than the areas specifically designated for Heritage Church. Heritage is generously allowing us to use this space at a reduced cost to keep these classes affordable and accessible to everyone, and thus we ask for your cooperation to remain respectful of their facility and generosity.

Schedule & Performance Policies

Enrollment in Harmony Ballet is a commitment for the entire school year. (August-May)

Attendance at the end of the year (May) Recital is mandatory for all students.

Classroom Policies

All classes, performances, and interactions with other students, teachers, volunteers, and parents operate under the following guidelines.

  • The primary vision and goal is to glorify our God through worship.
  • Honoring and encouraging one another with our words and conduct at all times.
  • Students are expected to follow the teacher’s instructions at all times without causing disruption to the class.
  • Harmony Ballet staff reserves the right to address any behavioral issues directly with the parents.
  • Harmony Ballet reserves the right to remove any student from the class (temporarily or permanently) due to mis-conduct.
  • Parents and children not enrolled in the class are not permitted into the classroom (other than designated parent observation days) in order to reduce distractions during class.

If your child has any special or behavioral needs, we ask that the parent contact Bonnie Swing to discuss any strategies or special accommodations. Harmony Ballet will do all that it can to accommodate for individual needs, however Harmony Ballet cannot guarantee or accommodate all circumstances. Situations like this can be handled on a case by case basis.

All students are required to arrive to class with:

Attendance Policy

Attendance is critical because each class will be working on recital and concert choreography and technique for performances. Each student’s proficiency is critical to the overall experience of all student’s in the class. Thus we ask that any absenses be eliminated or reduced if at all possible. If attendance and absence becomes problematic, Harmony Ballet does reserve the right to exclude a dancer from the performances or to request withdrawl from a class. If an excused absence is necessary, please communicate this to the class instructor or contact Bonnie Swing directly.

ALL students are required to participate in the end of the year Recital (including the dress rehearsal).

Harmony Ballet reaches out to the community with community dance events, camps, and performances. If your student is participating in a class that is selected to perform at one of these events, it is expected that your student will participate in these events to share the Love of God with the community around us.Introducing Block Patterns
